Charities - Direct Mail
Selection and Processing
JBS also offers extensive direct mailing services for your charity. Either receiving data files externally or extracting targeted data from a database managed in house we will run data through our thorough data processing routine to ensure it is in the best possible state for mailing. All data will be mailsorted if appropriate to ensure that you receive the Royal Mail’s bulk mailing discounts.
JBS provide printing and personalisation using either (B&W) laser printers or inkjetters. JBS also have bulk label printers as an additional addressing option. We can laser print from A4 – A3 and anything in between both simplex and duplex. We can handle multiple merges, especially useful if the piece you have printed has a response mechanism. Our inkjetters will handle all media from DL – A4 and anything in between and we can work with your creative agency to ensure the finish is inkjet compatible.
Depending on the specification of the direct mailing we will either hand enclose the contents of the mailer or use our enclosing machines for larger volumes. There are virtually no restrictions for what we can hand enclose; we often enclose pens, symbolic references and other gifts for charities and perform complex sticking and glueing activities. Our mailing machines will enclose up to 8 items into either DL or C5 wallets; if you wish we can liaise with your creative agency to ensure machine compatibility. Alternatively you can choose to utilise both hand enclosing teams and enclosing machines for the same project if you need to include an item like a badge in the pack. JBS’s enclosing flexibility allows you to design imaginative mailing packs to get maximum response and maximise donations.
Charities - Fulfilment: Brochure, Leaflet and Donor Packs
JBS can receive your responses or orders from your web site, by phone, email or post. From receipt, payment is processed (if relevant) and then the responses or orders are data captured, or if data formats have been pre-defined exported into the front end of our system ‘Centre Call’. From there the information drops into the back end of the system, ‘Auto Ops’ which automatically generates the relevant labels and letters or whatever printed matter forms part of your response packs.
Once all the printed matter has been generated it moves onto the fulfilment teams where the relevant letters and labels are matched to any other insert forming part of the pack, then enclosed into the appropriate envelopes and finally despatched by the clients chosen postal service.
The front end of the system holds all the information which forms the basis of your reports like, Name and address of enquirer, how they enquired, what they ordered or donated, the fulfilment audit (Date ordered, date processed, date printed and fulfiled and date despatched) and other value-added information, you have requested they answer. These reports can be web enabled so as to offer not only real time reporting but also complete transparency through the fulfilment process.

JBS Direct operate a small Call Centre to give your customers a friendly and individual service for both in-bound and out-bound projects. With our Lucent Index Call Centre system we can offer fully automated telephone lines 24 hours a day 7 days a week for mass response campaigns. In addition we can programme caller options to allow the enquirer to call switch direct to your client.
